Girl Scout Research Institute> conducted a survey among U.S. girls aged 14-17 to find out what effect social networking is having on their friendships and self-perceptions. While a majority of girls say social networking has made them feel more connected to their friends, just about all of them would be willing to ditch Facebook and other sites if it meant holding on to their best offline friend.
