New Study: Communities and Citizenship

Our world is changing in fundamental ways. That’s one of the few things on which virtually everyone would agree. Even as families and communities are pulled apart by increased mobility and individualized media diets, the world grows smaller thanks to globalization and new modes of communication and transport. It has been said that we know more and more about strangers’ lives and less and less about our neighbors.

Fun and Purpose: How to Keep Millennials on the Job

Portfolio.com reports on a new Deloitte survey that shows that two in three employees at large U.S. companies are looking to make an exit as the economy recovers. Generation X employees are the most eager to fly the corporate coop, with only 28 percent expecting to stay with their current employer. The survey findings regarding millennials spotlight two key expectations this new generation is bringing to the workplace: They're looking for fun and a sense that their employers care about something more than pure profits:
